Supersymmetric Scalar Masses, Z', and E(6)

چکیده

Assuming the existence of a supersymmetric U(1) gauge factor at the TeV energy scale (motivated either by the superstring-inspired E 6 model or low-energy electroweak phenomenology), several important consequences are presented. The two-doublet Higgs structure at the 100 GeV energy scale is shown to be different from that of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). A new neutral gauge boson Z ′ corresponding to the extra U(1) mixes with the Z. The supersymmetric scalar quarks and leptons receive new contributions to their masses from the spontaneous breaking of this extra U(1). The assumption of universal soft supersymmetry breaking terms at the grand-unification energy scale implies a connection between the U(1) breaking scale and the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two electroweak Higgs doublets.

Low-energy supersymmetry with D-term contributions to scalar masses.

We investigate how the predictions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model are modified by D-term contributions to soft scalar masses, which arise whenever the rank of the gauge group at very high energies is greater than four. We give a parameterization of the most general such contributions that can occur when the unbroken gauge symmetry is an arbitrary subgroup of E6, and show how the D...

Supersymmetric Benchmarks with Non-Universal Scalar Masses or Gravitino Dark Matter

We propose and examine a new set of benchmark supersymmetric scenarios, some of which have non-universal Higgs scalar masses (NUHM) and others have gravitino dark matter (GDM). The scalar masses in these models are either considerably larger or smaller than the narrow range allowed for the same gaugino mass m1/2 in the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) with universal scalar masses m0 and neutralino dark...

Higgs Sector in Extensions of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model

Extensions of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with additional singlet scalar fields solve the important μ-parameter fine-tuning problem of the MSSM.We compute and compare the neutral Higgs boson mass spectra, including one-loop corrections, of the following MSSM extensions: next-tominimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM), the nearly-minimal supersymmetric standard model (n...

Overview of Physics at a Muon Collider * I Introduction

Muon colliders offer special opportunities to discover and study new physics. With the high intensity source of muons at the front end, orders of magnitude improvements would be realized in searches for rare muon processes, in deep inelastic muon and neutrino scattering experiments, and in long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments. At a 100 to 500 GeV muon collider, neutral Higgs boson (or...
